Circuit Court Clerk

This Full-time position reports to the Bedford County Circuit Court Clerk. A minimum of 2 years experience working in the legal field is required for this position.

  • • Performs a variety of administrative duties in the city, county, and state court systems.
  • • Provides service to the public, judicial officers, attorneys, and staff.
  • • Prepares and maintains records of filing fees, bond monies, fines, and other required payments; accepts and records payments and issues of receipts.
  • • Researches court case files as required and authorized.
  • • Ensures that necessary documents are included in all case files before submitting them to court.
  • • May receive and process cases; assign docket numbers, submit them to court, issue summons and warrants, and record continuances.
  • • Answers the telephone, responds to questions regarding court documents from persons in the legal system, other governmental agencies and the general public.




  • Bedford County Juvenile Detention Center

    Full-time position in an office environment with other co-workers working closely. Male and Female officers needed. Officer will be guarding juveniles in addition to performing other duties as needed.





    Office of Planning & Zoning

    Reviews and approves plans and inspects construction of new and existing buildings and dwellings to ensure compliance with the adopted building and zoning codes for Bedford County government and other regulatory requirements related to land improvements. Performs related duties as required.





    Bedford County EMS

    The paramedic is expected to provide courteous medical care for all type of patients with unlimited diseases, injuries, and personalities. The difficult physical demands include: heavy lifting, crawling, kneeling, and walking long distances. Paramedics operate in a range of environments from the back of an ambulance to rough terrain and in all types of weather. All patient care must adhere to the standards set forth by the State of Tennessee and Bedford County EMS. The paramedic may be assigned other specific administrative duties or tasks as needed.

    Bedford County Sheriff's Office

    The Officer is responsible for overseeing state and county inmates. This involves working with inmates in the jail and various assigned duties.

    Bedford County Property Assessor

    The appraiser job will include computerized mapping and working with GIS mapping in the field on a daily basis. This job will include measuring, reviewing, listing and drawing footprints of new construction and other property improvements for property tax roll (including but not limited to commercial, industrial and single family dwellings etc.). Applicant needs to be familiar with construction process and costs.





    Bedford County Probation Office

    This position reports to the Director of Probation and is a full time position. To perform routine professional duties to ensure the adequate supervision and monitoring of Misdemeanor probationers in the community.





    Bedford County Animal Control

    Animal Control Officers are responsible for performing a variety of job functions related to animal care and control, including but not limited to field services, shelter operations, and office/ clerical work. Animal Control Officers are responsible for providing general animal care for shelter animals, responding to calls for service in the field, and enforcing State laws and County regulations pertaining to companion animals. Animal Control Officers must handle all animals in a humane manner at all times.
