Bedford County EMS

The paramedic is expected to provide courteous medical care for all type of patients with unlimited diseases, injuries, and personalities. The difficult physical demands include: heavy lifting, crawling, kneeling, and walking long distances. Paramedics operate in a range of environments from the back of an ambulance to rough terrain and in all types of weather. All patient care must adhere to the standards set forth by the State of Tennessee and Bedford County EMS. The paramedic may be assigned other specific administrative duties or tasks as needed.

The employee will be a deputy with the Sheriff’s Dept. the duty could be as a patrol deputy on any shift or as a security specialist division deputy at the Bedford County Courthouse on the day shift.

Bedford County Mayor Office

Responsible for cleaning of facilities; disposal of trash; operating scrubber, buffers, vacuums, and similar equipment. Will assist custodial work at Bedford County Court House, Bedford County Court House Annex and County Offices at US Bank Building.






Bedford County Juvenile Detention Center

Must have a high school diploma or GED and be 21 or older to apply. Employees must pass a physical, drug screen and background check.






Bedford County Zoning Enforcement Officer

Work involves providing zoning information to customers, conducting field inspections for code/ordinance compliance, issuing citations, referring to zoning maps and plat, researching property legal information and testifying at hearings relating to violations or citations. In addition, the officer is responsible for storm water management, special flood hazard areas and applicable nuisance abatement/mitigation.






Bedford County Corrections Officer

The Bedford County Jail is currently accepting applications for Correctional Officers. The corrections officer is responsible for maintaining the security of the jail by supervising the inmates and following the established policies and procedures, all while protecting the rights of the inmates.






Bedford County Probation Director

The Director is responsible for the overall operation of the Probation Department. The Probation Director provides leadership and direction to all employees of the Department in fulfilling the mission of the Department and the orders of the Court. The Probation Director plans and directs the operations of the Department and manages Department resources, including personnel, budget, and equipment.






Bedford County Communications Officer

The corrections officer facilitates effective communication with the general public and the Sheriff’s Office. Communications will be facilitated using the computer aided dispatch systems, National Crime Information Center (NCIC) computer, fax, e-mail, and telephone. Position responsible for maintenance of communication records.






Bedford County Animal Control Officer (part-time)

Animal Control Officers are responsible for performing a variety of job functions related to animal care and control, including but not limited to field services, shelter operations, and office/ clerical work.
